- I was born in Kimberly and grew up in the small towns of Stilfontein and Klerksdorp. I attended Milner High School, then did my 2 years in the military. I came to Johannesburg to study graphic design, but quit after 6 months. I struggled with how the student's work was "judged". You would work hard at something and it would get shot down. Then you would hand in something you'd practically scraped off the floor the same morning and get rave reviews.. not for me! So on to plan B...get a job(mining was a suitable option at the time).I got married and had 2 great kids. We later got divorced and 24 years later I left the mining industry, which had been a journey of heat, sweat, danger, rascism and a culture of boozing, which was everything that simply was'nt me. I came to Joburg and got involved in domestic training with my girlfriend.I had gone from the heat of the mines to the heat of the kitchen! I have 2 great kids, 3 lovely grandkids and an amazing girlfriend who inspired me to follow my dream. This dream is now developing into the works on these pages. My journey has begun!
